Brighter, smoother, glowing skin with dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a simple and safe skincare treatment which removes dead skin cells and vellus hair, also known as peach fuzz, from your face. Our qualified doctors expertly use a sharp blade to gently scrape off the top layer of dead skill cells resulting in a smoother and brighter complexion. Think of it like a scrub for your facial skin!
Ever wondered how your favourite actresses and models achieve such flawless complexion in close-ups?
It’s not ALL Photoshop! Dermaplaning has been a popular treatment in the entertainment industry as it eliminates peach fuzz that cakes up in makeup. This cakiness is further enhanced under bright studio lights and hi-definition professional cameras. Now, you can achieve the same level of flawlessness without turning on the Beauty Mode on your phone cameras!
How does it work?
Dermaplaning removes the dead skin cells and fine facial hair, leaving just smooth clean skin – just like how legs feel extremely smooth after a fresh shave or wax. A curved 10-inch scalpel is used, and scraped across clean, dry skin across the face.

What are the benefits?
Improve absorption of skincare products
Removing the top layer of dead skin cells and fine hairs improves the absorption of skincare products.
Smoother application of makeup
As your skin is very smooth, it is a flawless canvas for makeup to glide on smoothly!
Fine hairs trap debris and oils resulting in dull-looking skin. Skin-tone apears more even as well!
Perfect combination with other treatments
Due to all the beneficial effects of Dermaplaning, it is a perfect combination with other treatments such as Microneedling and Microdermabrasion.
Dermaplaning vs Microdermabrasion
Both treatments are similar forms of physical exfoliation of the skin, but with different methods. Microdermabrasion involves sanding and suctioning of dead skin cells. The suctioning effect uproots clogged pores particularly around the mouth, nose and chin areas. There may be complications during the procedure which may include infections and scarring.
However, dermaplaning simply scrapes off the topmost layer of the skin, suiting well for drier skin types and those wishing to remove fine facial hairs.
These two procedures can even be combined in the same session for those who have more resilient skin, to achieve some incredible results!
Who is it for?
Dermaplaning is perfect for all skin types except those with acneic skin. It is best to wait for breakouts to clear before trying this treatment. It is also important to discuss any allergies or skin sensitivities with your doctor before the treatment.
I’m pregnant or nursing, can I go for Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is perfect for those who are pregnant or nursing, and are unable to use peeling agents because of the risk that chemicals will be absorbed into the blood stream and transferred to the child. No harsh chemicals are used in this treatment at all.
Will the hair grow back darker, thicker or faster?
No, as the hair is superficial vellus hair, it will grow back at the same rate and texture.
Is it painful?
Dermaplaning is painless. It is something like the sensation of shaving your legs!
How long does the procedure take?
It takes roughly about 30 minutes.
Are there any side-effects?
There are no side-effects or downtime. However, after the treatment, your skin will be slightly pink and highly sensitive to sun exposure. We recommend avoiding direct sun-exposure and wearing a sunscreen with SPF30 or higher to reduce the risk of hyperpigmentation.
How often can I do dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning removes approximately 3 weeks worth of dead skin cells. It is recommended to allow the skin to complete its rejuvenation cycle before going for another treatment.
